As part of the Library team, Joanna’s primary task is to be a port of call for any students requiring assistance in finding the library resources they need so that they may gain the confidence and the knowledge to excel in their academic aspirations. When not out at the front desk, she is often found working behind the scenes to ensure that the library runs smoothly and is a space where anybody may walk in and immediately feel welcomed.
Joanna joined the team in 2017 after graduating from the University of Auckland with a Bachelor of Arts degree, double-majoring in History and Classical Studies. As a result, she knows a couple of good tricks to make the often-mammoth task of researching a little easier – just be sure to stop her if she talks for too long about the evolution of the sculptural form in Ancient Greek art or what can be learnt from reading about the last 100 years of human history!
Outside of Laidlaw, Joanna enjoys reading, writing, listening to music, and spending time with her family and friends.
